York Musical Society Christmas Concert

Start the season with a fanfare!

York Brass Quintet adds to the fun when York Musical Society performs its annual Christmas concert. Seasonal favourites Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas will be played by the York-based ensemble of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba.

The chorus of over 100 singers will perform well-known choruses from Handel’s Messiah as well as Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols and carols old and new and. The audience will be invited to join in and sing some of the more familiar carols.

For this concert, YMS will be conducted by Richard Shephard, whose own Prelude & Fugue onTempus Adest Floridum” will be played by David Pipe on the organ.

The audience will be invited for to stay for tea and cake afterwards to complete the festive mood.

Tickets are priced £10 for adults, £5 for students and children over 12, while children under 12 are free when accompanied by a paying adult. All seats are unreserved.
