Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will enable visitors to step inside the paintings, world and mind of the 19th century impressionist painter.
Thanks to cutting edge virtual projection you will become a part of the spectacular, incomparable universe of Vincent Van Gogh. The experience will let you discover the life of the artist in a new way: his time at the convent and in Arles, the secrets from the letters he wrote to his brother and much more. You will participate in a unique sound and light show that will immerse you in the world renowned and familiar images of Vincent Van Gogh. No one will leave untouched. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 360 degree experience in the universe of one of the greatest geniuses of the last century.
‘Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience’ is a travelling exhibition intended for a wide audience including families and visitors of all ages. It is a beautiful exhibition around Van Gogh that combines his life story with an in-depth immersion into the heart of his art.
The immersive aspect provides an impressive pathway into the painter’s life and his work, while containing a large variety of didactic information. ‘
The experience has thrilled visitors in Naples, Italy and Brussels, Belgium. York St Mary’s is the UK premiere opening of this awe inspiring attraction.
At the end of the exhibition, the VR Experience* will take the visitors even deeper into the life of the artist in Arles. You will travel through 8 works and their sources of inspiration: Vincent’s room, the meadows, the forest, the village and ending with Starry Night over the Rhone River…
* The VR Experience is not included in the ticket price. (£3.00 per person, no reservation possible)
The exhibition will open on 5 July and is scheduled to run through until 5 January 2020.
Last entry is one hour before closing, and visits take approximately one hour.
Admission prices are £13 for adults, £11 for concessions and students and £9 for children. Family tickets are available for £38 (two adults and two children).
