Wartime women – their lives, loves, songs and stories. Poems, letters, and diary extracts will bring to life the experiences and feelings of the women of WWI, while music and songs from the period will give you a flavour of the ups and downs of life in these difficult times.

From emotional ballads to uplifting marches, bawdy favourites and even knitting songs; heart-breaking poems of loss, uplifting diary entries and amusing anecdotes.

York Remembers
November 2018 marks 100 years since the Armistice which ended World War One. The city of York has developed a two month programme in response to this, York Remembers; Lifting The Shadow of The First World WarYork Remembers.
