Summer in the Park: Heart of Yorkshire Festival

Wed Jul 4 - Sun Sep 2

Event Navigation

This summer, York Minster is heading outside and bringing a new experience to Dean’s Park. As we complete the Great East Window project that’s been at the centre of our story for the past ten years, we are marking the start of new projects – the organ refurbishment and expansive glazing conservation in particular – and exploring the cyclical nature of life and restoration.

Just as this sits at the heart of the Christian faith, we are putting it at the centre of our summer programme, with workshops and events focussing on sustainability, our environment and conservation.

As we come together to enjoy the park, there will be tours and talks for all ages, workshops, crafts, performances and screenings of blockbuster films.

The pinnacle of our season is the incredible Stone Carving Festival, which will see masons from across Europe coming together to celebrate their ancient craft. With all this to enjoy and food and drink provided by the team behind the much-loved THOR’s Tipi, there is nowhere else to be this summer, than with us, in the heart of the city, at the Heart of Yorkshire.
