Sarah & David Cemmick wildlife artists exhibition
Sat Mar 30 @ 10.00 am - Fri May 17 @ 5.00 pm
Wildlife artists Sarah and David live in the beautiful Eden Valley amongst the foothills of the Cumbrian Pennines, where they each gain inspiration from the surrounding countryside and its abundant wildlife.
Sarah studied environmental illustration at Sunderland University where her passion for linocut printing first emerged. She has exhibited throughout the UK, been awarded the Lloyds private banking award at the Society of Wildlife Artists, and supplied The National Trust with a lino cut for a christmas card.
David Cemmick has travelled extensively and documented plant and animal species from some of the world’s most remote habitats. This has resulted in him illustrating two books focusing on the endangered Kakapo Parrot and Black Robin as well as studying coral and fish communities on Jamaica’s Morant Cays coral atoll and painting under water. Expeditions such as these have inspired David’s art where he translates what he has seen in nature, from field sketch to finished painting, or sculpture in bronze and clay.
