Did we hear someone ask for more?! York Light Opera Company are back for their 60th consecutive year performing on our stage with this family-favourite production – 60 years after its West End debut.

The streets of Victorian England come to life in this classic story, when orphan Oliver runs away from the workhouse to the streets of London. There he meets the Artful Dodger and is taken in by a gang of petty thieves led by the conniving Fagin. Falsely accused of a crime he didn’t commit, Oliver is rescued by Mr Brownlow. But Fagin and the sinister Bill Sykes plot to kidnap him, despite Nancy’s desperate intervention, threatening Oliver’s chance to discover his true family and home.

‘Consider yourself’ at home with Lionel Bart’s classic musical, based on Charles Dickens’ novel Oliver Twist, with all your favourite songs Food, Glorious Food, You’ve Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two, Oom-Pah-Pah, and As Long As He Needs Me.
