Mon Aug 26
Nimrod Open Day
This Bank Holiday Monday is Nimrod Open Day. The Museum’s Nimrod aircraft will be open to visitors to enjoy, with some of the Nimrod team who care for her right here to guide you through this amazing jet from nose to tail.
Learn more about the secretive role of the Nimrod over many years and how she served across the world providing electronic surveillance, search and rescue and submarine hunting for many decades.
Live Propellor Aircraft Today at the Museum – 2:00pm – 3.00pm
Our vintage propellor driven aircraft will be running live inside the grounds of the museum. Join us in he afternoon and see vintage biplanes, our SE5a and Eastchurch Kitten, plus the C47 Dakotas and De Havilland Devon all running their engines live. The selection of live aircraft may vary depending upon availability, as while our engineers take great care of our old aircraft sometimes the old engines decide not to co-operate.
