A popular York drink outlet has announced it is closing, to the dismay of its customers.
Kwench on Church Street sells smoothies and a huge variety of milkshakes.
But it is to shut permanently on Sunday, 2 October.
The business announced the decision on Instagram, saying: “Due to the unfortunate circumstances, the permanent closing of Kwench on 2 October, we are offering a discounted deal on most items.”
The discounts apply Monday to Friday, and include regular milkshakes for £2.50 and coffee for £1.50.
YorkMix has tried to contact to the owners of Kwench to get more details about the closure but didn’t reach them before publication.
Kwench was opened in December 2020 by Sheridan and David Walker, the owners of the Dutch Pancake House on the opposite side of Church Street.
They sold the business on to new owners about six months ago.
The decision to close dismayed customers. “Awww how come Kwench is closing?! Gutted!” said one.
Another commented: “So sad to hear this. Thank you for all the delicious vegan options you’ve provided us.”
