Join us for a family carol service at York Minster to remember the lives of babies and young children who have died suddenly and unexpectedly.
The carol service is organised by The Lullaby Trust, a charity that raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome and supports bereaved families. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends who have been affected by the loss of a baby or young child to come together and find support this Christmas.
The service begins at 2.00pm, and attendees should be seated at 1.45pm. Readings will be provided by bereaved family members and the address will be given by the Revd Catriona Cumming, Succentor at York Minster. There will also be music from Huntington Primary Academy and the York Railway Institute Golden Rail Band.
After the service there will be a remembrance Christmas tree on which people can hang stars in memory of a baby or other loved one, and refreshments will be served in the Chapter House.
The carol service is free and un-ticketed and residents of York and surrounding areas are all invited to join us for this event.
