Black Rose Cabaret Macabre
Fri Sep 6 @ 7.00 pm - Sat Sep 7 @ 1.00 amFree – £35
The Fulford Arms will be transformed to host our Cabaret Macabre show – come and join us to be entertained!
We are delighted to have Rosie Lugosi join us as our host for the evening. Rosie Lugosi, the Vampire Queen, mistress of ceremonies, performs twisted cabaret and has been tantalising audiences worldwide with her unique blend of camp humour, mayhem and song for many years.
Rosie Lugosi is the creation of novelist, poet and singer, with post-punk band The March Violets, Rosie Garland. Rosie is also the author of The Night Brother, Vixen and The Palace of Curiosities. The Times has described her writing as “a delight: playful and exuberant… with shades of Angela Carter.”
A Short Dark Stranger- poetic pumping power pop performed with passion!
AMereKat – A geeky Northern peep bringing the joys (and sorrows) of the ukulele to anyone who’ll sit still long enough to listen.
Alice Nicholls – By turns political, poetical, personal and profound, musical chameleon Alice Nicholls brings her own brand of sarcastic feminist rants to the stage to entertain and educate. She apologises for the pomposity of this description.
Marie Devilreux – beautiful and elegant gothic infused burlesque dancer
Victor and the Bully – From the depths of London, come Victor and the Bully. Armed with only a Ukulele, a Guitar, some moustache wax and a touch of Brylcreem to create a twisted cabaret-like sound. Using honky tonk piano, violins, trumpets and anything they can get their filthy mits on; they create a ‘Carnival blend’ inspired by steampunk, swing, mariachi, classical and punk to blow the cobwebs away and get your feet tapping
