We know it’s only October, but there’s no harm in indulging in a few moments of festive anticipation…

The big new event in York this Christmas is an ‘illuminated wonderland’.

Christmas At York Museum Gardens will see the park “transformed into a magical after-dark experience filled with colour, music and the biggest display of lighting and special effects York has ever seen”.

York Christmas attraction is new this year

Which is quite a boast after so many years of Illuminating York…

But it is brought to us by the team behind Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland and Thor’s tipi bar, so they have a festive track record.

Now they have released this teaser trailer to give us a flavour of what to expect.

Santa and a tunnel of light

Another twinkly still from the video

As you walk round the gardens you will see a light and sound installation commissioned by a Northern artist, and hear the music of Christmas as you reach the 14th century Hospitium.
