Films, a musical adventure and Roald Dahl – three of the elements of a new music season for children in York this autumn.
The National Centre for Early Music’s autumn music programme for young people caters from 4 to 11 year olds, bringing high quality music experiences to York.
Peter And The Wolf
Starting with a movie morning, the NCEM on Walmgate will be screening Suzie Templeton’s award-winning animated film Peter and the Wolf (Cert U) which is set to music by Prokofiev.
This will be followed by three short animated films, presented by the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival. Sunday October 16 from 11.30am
Hubbub
Just for little ones (4+) the centre has invited Hubbub to share their musical adventure following five friends on the trail of the mysterious blue beetle in the quest for a lost voice. Sunday Oct 30, 1.30pm & 3.30pm
Roald Dahl
Finally, marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Roald Dahl, The Magnard Ensemble will explore some of his stories through music and theatre with Revolting Rhymes & Marvellous Music on Sunday, November 27 at 2pm.
We have teamed up with the NCEM to offer two sets of family tickets (2 adults and 2 young people) for Revolting Rhymes & Marvellous Music on Sunday November 27, 2pm.
