Eight distinctive artists will be living and working together in a studio space over a 48-hour period to create original works that will be put on show to the public at the SLAPover exhibition event this Saturday night (November 1) at 6pm.

The exhibition, which coincides with the annual Illuminating York festival, will also be projected onto the exterior of its Little Stonegate.

Those unable to attend the event itself can watch via a live online stream – details will be available on the SLAP Facebook page.

“As ever, we’re hoping to see some truly original and idiosyncratic work,” said SLAP marketing manager Pete Wise.

“The artists are now hard at work in the studio and if early conversations and efforts are anything to go by, we’re going to see some striking end results.

“We hope that plenty of people will drop in to our free exhibition on their way around the Illuminating York installations this Saturday.”

SLAP, which stands for Salacious Live Alternative Performance, is hosting four arts events in York over November and December, of which the SLAPover exhibition is the first.
