It looks increasingly likely that pop star Ellie Goulding will marry her fiancé at York Minster next month.
YorkMix understands that the cathedral is the hot favourite for the wedding between Ellie and her boyfriend Caspar Jopling.
Jopling is a member of an aristocratic Yorkshire family, who live at Frickley Hall, a Grade II listed house in large grounds found north west of Doncaster.
Sources inside the recording industry have said the couple are planning to marry at the Minster, with the likely date Saturday, 31 August.
That would tie in with her touring schedule. After a show in Norway on 17 August, Ellie has nothing in the diary until a gig in Rio de Janeiro at the end of September.
Royal invites
Ellie and Caspar announced their engagement in The Times last August.
They have hinted the wedding will be soon. And there’s a lot of speculation about the guest list.
Ellie was a close friend of Prince Harry’s, and a report in The Sun suggests she has invited Prince William and Kate to her nuptials – she sang at the royal wedding reception.
Caspar is inviting close friends Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and rock royalty on the guest list includes Ed Sheeran and Rita Ora.
After the wedding the reception is set to be at Castle Howard, no doubt with lashings of champagne.
York Minster officials were not in a position to confirm the wedding would take place there.
It is the Minster’s policy not to disclose details of private family occasions such as weddings, christenings, baptisms or funerals.
Caspar, 26, was educated at Eton and Harvard, and is now an arts dealer at Sotheby’s in New York.
He’s the nephew of the famous art dealer Jay Jopling.
Caspar popped the question to Ellie while they completed a jigsaw after they had been dating for 18 months.
