Issued by North Yorkshire Police
Police are asking for the driver of a silver car to come forward after a cyclist was knocked off his bike in York.
At around 4.20pm on Friday 26 July 2013, the 20-year-old York man was cycling along Stockton Lane towards Stockton-on-the-Forest when the car, which had a loud exhaust, overtook him just past the junction of Hopgrove Lane South.
It is believed that the car caught the cyclist on his arm, causing him to fall off. The cyclist was taken to York District Hospital where he received treatment to a broken wrist.
The silver car did not stop at the scene and officers are appealing for the driver to contact them. It’s possible that they are unaware that a collision had occurred.
Officers are also appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the silver car driving along Stockton Lane on Friday afternoon to get in touch.
If you are the driver of the car involved, or anyone else with information which could help the investigation, please contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Shannon Stanton. Or you can email [email protected].
