Doctor Who fans in York will be given the chance to enjoy a sneak preview of Peter Capaldi’s final moments as the Time Lord ahead of this year’s Christmas Day special.
The episode will be screened at the Guildhall as part of a Christmas preview package of BBC programming touring the north of England.
Doctor Who: Twice Upon A Time will form part of a double bill at the Guildhall with the return of hit comedy The League Of Gentleman on Friday, December 15.

Capaldi’s last run out as the Doctor before Jodie Whittaker becomes the first woman to take the role – will see the Time Lord joined by Mark Gatiss and Pearl Mackie as his assistant Bill Potts.
Meanwhile York actor David Bradley will reprise his role as the First Doctor.
Fans will not get a glimpse of Whittaker’s regeneration however, with the last few moments of the episode being kept a surprise until the Christmas Day broadcast on BBC One.

Cult comedy The League Of Gentlemen returns to BBC Two this Christmas with three brand-new episodes to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary at the BBC.
Once again, the three performing members of the League – Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton and Mark Gatiss (again) – will be playing a veritable host of bizarre and darkly comic characters inhabiting the fictional Northern town of Royston Vasey, in scripts written by themselves and co-creator Jeremy Dyson.
The first episode will be shown in York as part of the premiere tour.
The Doctor Who episode will be screened at 7pm, and The League Of Gentlemen at 8.30pm.
Tickets will be available through a ballot opening on November 23 via the BBC Shows and Tours website.
