They get about, do York scouts.
Certainly the Dringhouses Scouts Group do – their two minibuses have travelled 135,000 miles between them.
Although they have been well cared for, the vehicles are starting to show their age and they plan to purchase two brand new 15 seat minibuses.
Group Scout leader Phil Bennett said: “We offer fun and skills for life to over 240 young people every week.
“We rely heavily on our vehicles to be able to take our young people on lots of adventures.
“Replacing our minibuses is going to be hard work and we have decided to partner with the Aviva Community Fund to get the wheels in motion for Project Vroom!”
The Aviva Community Fund gives local organisations and causes the chance to fund exciting projects.
Dringhouses Scout Group is relying on votes to increase their chances of winning funding of up to £25,000 which they hope will allow them to buy the first of the needed minibuses. Only projects with the most votes will become finalists, so additional support is vital.
