A new partnership between York-based charity Accessible Arts & Media and financial services business BGL Group means curtain up for a special cabaret show from Hands & Voices.
Hands & Voices, one of the first singing and signing choirs in the UK, was established 20 years ago to help people with learning and communication difficulties communicate through music and performance.
As part of their 20th anniversary celebrations, they’re creating a new show, Cabaret of Dreams, to be staged in early December.
BGL Group has donated £2,000 to Accessible Arts and Media that will help towards the production costs for the show. In addition, the new partnership will also offer volunteering opportunities for BGL Group employees at Accessible Arts & Media events.
Creative, authentic and united
Team leader at BGL Group Jamie Lyons says: “It’s been a real pleasure for us here at BGL Group to be able to support Accessible Arts & Media.
“They do a wonderful job at making everyone who attends their sessions feel supported and valued. We’re really looking forward to the show and continuing to support them with their work.”
Kirsty Halliday, development manager at Accessible Arts & Media, says: “It’s great to establish a relationship with BGL Group, whose values of being ambitious, creative, authentic and united are such a good match to our ethos here at AAM.
“We’re very grateful for their support of the production and Hands & Voices ”
Tickets for the show will go on sale in mid-October.
