Pop band The Kooks have called off their York gig at the Barbican on Wednesday night December 9.

The Brighton-based four-piece have cancelled all their shows this week owing to a family bereavement.

They issued a statement on their website which read:

It is with a heavy heart that The Kooks will be re-scheduling the shows in Manchester, Glasgow, York, Nottingham and Norwich. There has been a sudden bereavement in the family.

New dates for these shows will be announced ASAP. All tickets will remain valid.

Folkestone, Southampton, Lincoln and London shows will still go ahead.

Thank you for your understanding at this time.
