There’s a very special concert lined up to launch the 40th York Early Music Festival –
and we have a very special ticket offer to go with it.
To open the festival this year, and to mark the 450th anniversary of Monteverdi’s birth, vocal ensemble I Fagiolini present Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers.
The concert takes place on Friday, July 7 at 8pm in the glorious setting of the nave at York Minster.
Directed by Robert Hollingworth and featuring The 24 from the University of York, this performance follows on from the triumphant presentation of Striggio’s 40-part mass in 2012.
Music up close
And you can get up close and personal to the artists.
I Fagiolini are inviting audience members to leave their seats and get close to singers and musicians to appreciate the music in a very different way.
Stand next to a cornett, get close to a tenor, watch the organist’s hands, or sit and watch from outside the circle – the choice is yours!
Either way, it is set to be an unforgettable experience.
Special offer
There is a special 2 for 1 ticket offer on full price tickets.
It runs until Wednesday, July 5.
