If you’re looking for a lock-in, York is the place to be.
A third escape room is applying to move in to the city. This one is hoping to move in to an empty shop on Bootham.
An escape room is an adventure game where teams are locked in a room and must solve clues and puzzles in order to be given the code to break out.
They are increasingly popular. The first one to open in York was GR8escape on Colliergate.
And that was joined more recently by Can You Escape? on Micklegate.
Former florists’ home
Now an application for a third such attraction is in with City of York Council.
New business Low Key Games, based in Osbaldwick, are behind the plan. They want to open at 38 Bootham.
That has been vacant since Garden Of Eden Florists closed after 18 years in January.
“Located near the city centre and residential areas there is an identified demand for leisure activities,” the application says.
