Emergency services were called out to help a young cyclist injured in York this afternoon (Sunday).
A fire crew from Acomb responded to call from paramedics at 3.04pm to the accident on Shipton Road.
There they helped a 15-year-old boy who had a bicycle brake lever impaled into his knee.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews assisted in releasing the boy from the bike and handlebars and he was then taken to hospital via road ambulance for further treatment.”
