Police have responded to an incident in Burnholme Drive in York.
Armed officers were among those who went to the scene following reports from members of the public of a man with knives.
They were called out at shortly after midday on Wednesday (May 9).
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said they responded “to a report of violence on Burnholme Drive, York involving a 78 year-old man”.
She said officers were “assisting the man until he gets the help he needs”.
The incident is now over and police have left the scene. No one is believed to have been hurt.
