Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident of sexual touching in York.
Between 3am and 3.40am on Tuesday 11 December 2012, a woman in her late teens was walking through York city centre following an evening out, when she was approached by a man who took hold of her and touched her in an inappropriate manner.
The incident took place in Walmgate between Merchantgate and Percy’s Lane after the victim had become separated from her friends.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 6ft tall, medium build, aged between 20 and 30 years with dark spiky hair. He has been described as wearing a green coloured shirt with a dark coloured jacket over the top.
Officers have carried out extensive enquiries in the area and are viewing CCTV footage and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or can help identify the suspect from his description.
Anyone who has any information which can assist the investigation or help identify the suspect is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Hannah Dearden. Or you can email the officer at [email protected]
