The latest addition to York’s pub scene will open tomorrow – 13 weeks late.
Staff at The Old Bank on Lendal were undertaking last minute preparations today before opening the doors on Saturday (4 July).
What was The Graduate was revamped as The Old Bank by owners the Stonegate Pub Company.
It was due to open around April 3. But then coronavirus stepped in.
Now though, its long-delayed unveiling is about to happen – with a few changes.
Super excited
The team said the “are super excited” to be opening in a post on Facebook.
They said: “We will be observing minimum 1m distancing, will have hand sanitising stations across the pub and our pub will be table seating only.
“We will have a dedicated PPE professional sanitising and keeping all areas clean.
“We are also introducing an app at which you can order from the comfort and safety of your table.
“We expect to be super busy over the first weekend of opening so where possible make sure you book your table to avoid disappointment.”
The building had historically been housing, shops and then a bank during the latter half of the 1900s, but it was converted into a pub in the 1990s, and was extended at the back when it became The Graduate.
