No, not that palace! This party is at Bishopthorpe Palace, home to the Archbishop of York, to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. Bands, bubbles, and big bangs, all raising money for St Leonard’s Hospice. More here.

Macmillan Charity Raceday
There is a special thrill in cheering home your winning selection surrounded by thousands of people at York. Since 1971 this event has raised over £6.5 million for good causes and provided some fantastic racing excitement. More here.

York College Creative Show 2016
A chance to see what talented young people we have in this city. A collection of contemporary craft and design work by the 2016 graduates of York College, exhibited in the Quad South Hall of York St John’s University from 10am-5pm, June 11-16. More here
Mod alert! A cast of local musicians are joining forces to perform Quadrophenia, the rock opera written by Pete Townshend. The York All Stars, featuring local acts The SuperModels, Faraday Waves and The 5:15s, as well as an ensemble of well known local musicians will perform the 1973 album in its entirety at the Grand Opera House on Saturday – more here.
