Record Store Day
The Inkwell on Gillygate hosts its fourth Record Store Day on Saturday, with master of ceremonies Paul Lowman inviting all music-lovers to buy records, drink beer, listen to DJs and “watch a kick-ass band”. That band is The Black Lagoons who launch their first EP at the store – more here.
The Paulos family have been entertaining audiences around the world since 1816 and are one of the oldest circus families in the UK. They’re bringing their show to Roko in Stirling Road, Clifton Moor, on Saturday and Sunday, offering everything from aerial artistry to Spanish magic. More details here

Live theatre at Clifford’s Tower
No doubt travelling troubadours would have put on a show here in William the Conqueror’s time, but Clifford’s Tower hasn’t hosted a theatrical performance we can recall.
