Meet Monty. From this photograph you can almost imagine him bounding out of the screen and running up to you, tail wagging.

The brilliant image by York photographer Andrea Denniss earned her the title Pet Photographer Of The Year.

Andrea, who runs Pink Lily Photography in New Earswick, won the award in the prestigious Master Photographers Association (MPA) Awards.

She beat photographers from across the UK and abroad to scoop the prize.

Andrea had previously been shortlisted for the title but this time went one better.

“I am so thrilled,” Andrea said.

“It was made all the more special as the image that won me the award featured the fabulous Monty who sadly was at the end of his life due to a serious illness.

“Not that you would have guessed on the day – he was very much full of life and enjoying every minute.”
