A 16-year-old boy has been reported for summons after police caught him driving a car in York.
He was initially spotted by a police community support officer at 1.41pm on Thursday (12 March 2020) in the Cornlands Road area.
The car made off towards Gale Lane.
Following a search, the car – which was an MOT failure and was supposed to have been scrapped on 7 March – was found at Acomb Wood at 2.54pm.
The car was seized and the driver, who is from York, has been summonsed to court for motoring offences including driving without a licence.
