Here’s one York teenager who looks to have driven into a whole heap of trouble.
Police were contacted at 7.45pm on Tuesday (January 3) after a report that a Black Mercedes E Class was missing.
They were told it had been “taken without authority and driven otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without the relevant insurance,” said a spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police.
At 11.10pm police located the car whilst it was stationary on St Oswalds Road, Fulford – only to find a 13-year-old boy behind the wheel.
Police say he was the son of the car’s owner.
The spokeswoman said:
The boy was interviewed under caution, with a parent present, and has been reported to court for the offences of taking a vehicle without consent, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without the relevant insurance.
