Popular North Yorkshire attraction Eden Camp is reopening this weekend – with an Easter line up of family fun.
The modern history museum holiday activities will include the return of its much-loved Living History Weekend and a series of educational workshops.
Eden Camp, near Malton, will reopen this Saturday (23 March).
Eden Camp is the only remaining prisoner of war camp in Britain, built in 1942, where the original huts have been preserved and turned into immersive displays.
From 25 March to 5 April, families can journey back in time to explore the 22 original POW huts. Discover the sights, sounds, and smells of what life was like on the Home Front and Front Line during the Second World War.
During the Easter weekend, 29-31 March, the museum will transform back to the 1940s, complete with re-enactors, authentic displays and talks for its Living History Weekend. Witness the life of soldiers in the British and US Armies and hear stories of about Britain’s wartime challenges.
Children can also take part in educational hands-on workshops:

- WW1 Cooking – Thursday 28 March & Thursday 4 April, 1-2pm, free – Join in the cooking fun and make your own tack biscuits
- Rationing – Wednesday 3 April, 1-2pm, free – Learn about the effects of Rationing in Britain during the war
- POW Arts & Crafts – Friday 29 March & Friday 5 April, 1-2pm, free – Explore the everyday life of a POW at Eden Camp
- Willow Weaving Workshops – Tuesday 26 March & Tuesday 2 April, various times, £6.50 per child (pre-booking required) – Discover the ancient art of willow crafting
