Her 2013 project The Pop Up Art Space saw artists from a variety of mediums exhibiting and performing in an unused office space in Little Stonegate.
She also started up the regular art exhibitions at community pub the Golden Ball.
Charlotte told YorkMix that the new art market would engage the public in the arts and provide a platform for local established and emerging artists.
She said:
It is also a great opportunity for local art collectors to meet and purchase original artworks straight from the artists themselves.
The artists
Artists from all over Yorkshire will be exhibiting at this year’s York River Art Market, Charlotte said, including Leeds artist and “all-round creative genius” Alisia Casper. Whitby contemporary landscape artist Bridget Wilkinson is also involved.
And York’s Natasha Almond is working with a micro social enterprise to create artisan vertical wall gardens. Other artists taking part include Jade Blood and Jelena Lung, both from York.
Art lover and Golden Ball mover and shaker Pete Kilbane said:
It’s getting culturally more interesting every day.
Soon we’ll be the Paris of the North!
Spaces to exhibit are now all taken but you can still be added to the reserve list – contact Charlotte by email for further info.
