York turned out in the sunshine to see the Olympic flame hotfoot around the city. Official figures put the turnout at 55,000 in the city centre yesterday and 23,400 for the Knavesmire party led by Katy B.
Today the flame left York by steam from the National Railway Museum on its way to Thirsk. It’s eventual destination is a city in the south east called London.
