A man caught on CCTV in York has been identified as Rory Johnson by members of his family.
Police confirmed on Thursday (November 26) that the footage shows Rory in the City Mills area of York.
The search for Rory resumed today, more than six days after he was last seen after leaving the Travelodge Hotel on Piccadilly at 12.30am on Friday, November 20.
The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Underwater Search Team returned on Thursday (November 26) to continue their searches of the River Ouse in York.
Several dives in the river near Skeldergate Bridge in recent days have failed to turn up any evidence as to what has happened to Rory, 29, from Skipton.
York Rescue Boat has also been out assisting in the search.
Meanwhile York police are continuing their investigation with officers following up enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.

11.30pm Rory at the Postern Gate Wetherspoon pub on Piccadilly
Midnight He returns to the Travelodge next door, where he was staying with his friend overnight, with the two people he had met in the pub
12.15am Rory leaves the hotel with one of people he had met at the Postern Gate to go to another pub
12.30am Rory goes missing. The person he had met assumed he had gone to the toilet or returned to the hotel
Facebook group grows
As of Thursday morning the Facebook group Rory Johnson Is Missing had more than 18,000 members.
The group is appealing for everyone to share Rory’s photos and last known whereabouts.
They are also asking for specific people to come forward:
- anybody who has CCTV on their property near the City Mills sheltered accommodation
- anyone with digicams in their cars or motorbikes etc who might have footage from the Skeldergate and City Mills areas from approx 12.30am onwards on Friday 20th
Rory works at Brody’s Yorkshire Pizzeria in Sheep Street, Skipton. His colleagues there have posted a heartfelt message on the business’s Facebook page:
