A lorry caught fire on a rural road in Ryedale late last night (Monday).
Fire crews were called to the incident on Rape Close Lane, Coulton, between Castle Howard and Ampleforth, at 11.02pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Helmsley and Easingwold responded to a report of a large vehicle on fire.

“On arrival of the crews the lorry cab was well alight. Crews used two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and the driver was taken to hospital by road ambulance for checks.”
