A lorry driver put out a car fire after it caught light on the A1(M).
Fire crews from Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripon responded to the incident near Allerton Park at 6.05am today
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Upon arrival the fire was already out and advice was given to the occupants of the vehicle.

“The vehicle was found to have been leaking engine coolant which had caused the fire.
“The fire was confined to the engine compartment. A passing HGV pulled over and extinguished using a water extinguisher.
“Crews inspected with a thermal imaging camera.”
